On a hot morning fighting by young servants of the Capulet and Montague families is stopped by the Prince who tells them that the next person who breaks the peace will be punished with death.

Capulet plans a feast to introduce his daughter, Juliet, who is almost fourteen, to the Count Paris who would like to marry her.

By a mistake of the illiterate servant Peter, Montague’s son, Romeo, and his friends Benvolio and the Prince’s cousin Mercutio, hear of the party and decide to go in disguise.

​Romeo hopes he will see his adored Rosaline but instead he meets and falls in love with Juliet.

AUDITIONS

Audition Packet
  • Sign-up for an audition time in front of #222. 
  • Prepare two contrast Monologues not to exceed 2-3 minutes (Contrasting styles examples: Classic or Contemporary (1950’s-current), Comedy or Drama, etc.).  One Monologue needs to be a Shakespeare (You are allowed to read this).
  • Recent Headshot
  • Resume
  • Acting Application (Found in #222).

DURING YOUR AUDITION

  • Your audition begins immediately from your entrance and continues until you exit.
  • Present strong, effective posture
  • Enter and leave with confidence i.e. keep your head up, avoid looking at the floor.
  • Keep your focus and energy.
  • Do not use props or costumes. This is an audition, not a performance. Dress up.
  • After you finish, wait for a response from the adjudicator before you leave the room, even if it is just a “thank you.”
  • Thank all panelists (i.e. adjudicator, director, stage manager etc.) ​
